When will the volunteer application be live for FanX 2019? The Volunteer Application is always live on the League of Utah Volunteers website www.luvworks.net
When do applications close for FanX 2019? The L.U.V. application never closes, however, in order to participate in FanX for September 2019 you will need to be in the system on or before Monday, August 19, 2019.
I already have an application in Growtix. Do I need to apply again? NO, you will only need to apply for L.U.V. once. You will only need to update your availability for the upcoming event.
Where will I receive communication about volunteering for FanX? There are four places you will get information about volunteering for FanX. This website (save the link), The email you used when applying in Growtix, Basecamp (NEW FOR 2019), FanX Volunteer Facebook groups.
GENERAL VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Where will volunteers enter the Salt Palace Convention Center for their shift? Volunteers need to enter on the east side of the Salt Palace, across the street from the Marriot Hotel, next to the gift shop. There will be signs directing you down the sidewalk to the entrance.
Where do I look for Volunteer Training? Volunteer training will be posted on the Volunteer Training Page of this website, and on Basecamp.
When/where do we pick up our volunteer perks? Volunteers will have three dates leading up to the event to pick up their volunteer perks. The dates and times will be listed on this website, on Basecamp, and as events on the Salt Lake Comic Con Volunteer Facebook page. Volunteers that are not able to attend any of the volunteer pre-registration events will need to arrange with their Senior Volunteer Manager to pick up their volunteer perks BEFORE their first shift.
Will we be able to keep a bottle of water or drink with us while we are at our stations, or does that just depend on our role? All Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle to keep with them at all times. Hydration is important.
What is the dress code for the convention? This is addressed in the Volunteer Handbook. You will be given a Volunteer shirt upon check-in. Long pants are required. Acceptable pants: jeans (no holes or rips), khakis, cargos, or dress pants. No shorts, capris, leggings, jeggings, or tights Wear closed toed shoes for your safety.
Will there be a database of how many passes a volunteer earns for Street Team events and other Con related events? NO, passes earned for street team events will be emailed to you prior to the main event. If you do not receive them you will need to contact Carlie Jones.
Is there a specific place for volunteer parking? There is no specific place reserved for Volunteer parking, there are parking lots near the convention center that you can pay to park or at the convention center parking lot. There is also the option to take Trax or Frontrunner to the convention, your volunteer wristband comes preloaded with your UTA pass. This works on both Trax and Frontrunner STARTING WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2019.
What about tickets that we are earning for this con? I was wanting to give them to a friend as I can’t utilize them. How do we go about that? Volunteers will be sent their tickets through their Growtix account. After claiming the voucher from your email, or by logging into your Growtix account, you will be able to send the QR code for tickets to anyone via email or text message.
Are we allowed to bank our tickets for future events? NO, tickets earned can be used for the current event ONLY.
